New Favorites for MVP, ROY, COY, MIP and Sixth Man - 2024-2025 Season
The NBA season is a few weeks old and we’ve already seen some award changes at BetOnline.ag.
There are new favorites for MVP, ROY, COY, MIP and Sixth Man. The respective new favorites are SGA, Risacher, Kenny Atkinson, LaMelo Ball and Payton Pritchard.
Below are comparisons (with notes) on how the NBA Awards have changed.

- Luka is the favorite and remains the favorite but SGA has closed the gap.
- Anthony Davis from 50/1 to 11/2
- KD from 66/1 to 40/1.
- Giannis from 9/1 to 28/1.
- Wemby from 14/1 to 66/1.
- Steph from 50/1 to 125/1.
- Dame, Sabonis, Jaylen Brown, Embiid, Kawhi, Paolo, PG and Trae are now off the board.
- Rookie of the Year
- No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher is the new favorite.
- Carrington from 20/1 to 15/2.
- Dunn and Missi from 50/1 to 14/1.
- Filipowski from 100/1 to 22/1.
- Sheppard went from a summer favorite and third before the season started to 13th. He went from 17/2 to 40/1.
- Clingan and Holland from 22/1 to 50/1.
- Jamal Shead and Jaylen Wells have been added to the board.
- Bronny, Isaiah Collier, Ja’Kobe, McCain, Kel’el Ware, Buzelis, Dillingham, Shannon, Salaun, and Kolek are now off the board.
- Coach of the Year
- Kenny Atkinson is the new favorite going from 16/1 to 15/4.
- JJ Redick went from 15th at 25/1 to second at 5/1.
- Charles Lee from 50/1 to 28/1.
- Doc Rivers from 33/1 to 100/1.
- Quin Snyder from 40/1 to 100/1.
- Defensive Player of the Year
- Victor Wembanyama is the only player that remains the favorite from the pre-season but he is barely above Chet Holmgren. It will be fun to watch these two go against each other for the next decade.
- Holmgren went from 12/1 to 5/2.
- Draymond from 55/1 to 28/1.
- Gobert from 14/1 to 28/1.
- Giannis from 28/1 to 50/1.
- Lopez, Clingan, Embiid, Dort, and Kessler are now off the board.
- Most Improved Player:
- LaMelo Ball is the new favorite going from 13th at 40/1 to 15/2.
- Chet Holmgren from 50/1 to 14/1.
- Wembenyama from pre-season closing favorite at 9/2 to 12th at 22/1.
- Jonathan Kuminga from opening favorite in July at 9/1 to 75/1.
- RJ Barrett, Ivica Zubac, Bilal Coulibaly, Dyson Daniels, Norman Powell and Miles McBride are now on the board.
- 13 players are now off the board
- Sixth Man of the Year:
- Payton Pritchard is the new favorite. He was tied for 24th at 66/1 and is now 5/1.
- Buddy Hield is now second going from 33/1 to 6/1.
- Tre Mann from 55/1 to 11/1
- Keldon Johnson from 25/1 to 100/1.
- Reed Sheppard from 33/1 to 75/1.
- Dereck Lively has been added to the board.
- Caruso, Nembhard, Bogdan Bogdanovic, CJ McCollum, GG Jackson, Josh Hart, Norman Powell, and Russell Westbrook are now off the board.
